Many people drink less water, which leads to dehydration, and heat can cause the body temperature to rise significantly, which increases the risk of heatstroke. In summer, along with drinking plenty of water, one should also consume fluids like betel juice, lemon water, sattu juice, scallion, mango leaves, coconut water, etc.
Drinking alcohol dehydrates the body, which increases the chances of heat stroke. Apart from this, there are many other serious disadvantages of alcohol. During summer, caffeine i.e. tea and coffee should be consumed in small quantities. Some people have the habit of drinking too much tea or several cups of coffee throughout the day, which can make you a victim of heat stroke.
To avoid heatstroke, one should try not to go out during peak hours, i.e., stay indoors from 12 noon to 3 pm. Sometimes people do not pay attention to small things while going out or working in the hot sun, such as not covering their heads. If you are going out or have to do any work, keep your head covered with a light-colored cotton cloth. Take breaks sometimes and go to the shade. Keep electrolyte powder with you and mix it with water and drink it, which will give energy.
If you drink too many cold drinks during summer days, it also increases the chances of heat stroke. Many people think that carbonated drinks are liquid and also provide relief, so people drink it without thinking, but due to this, along with water, electrolytes in the body also decrease. This can also cause many other health problems.
